Thomas Howe to Speak at Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco
Wed April 11th, 2007 : Hyannis, MA : Thomas Howe Consulting is pleased to announce that CEO Thomas Howe has been asked to speak at the prestigious Web 2.0 Expo next week. Mr. Howe was the recent winner of the O’Reilly Emerging Telephony Mashup Competition with his original application “After Hours Doctor’s Office.” His talk, titled “Writing Voice Mashups with Mechanical Turks and Maps” will look at how mashups are created, and at implementation details in depth. Using After Hours Doctor’s Office as an example, every part of the mashup will be reviewed in code-level detail, including a Voice XML front end, the software interfaces to the Amazon Mechanical Turk nurses, and mapping displays to help direct the patient to a local health care facility. The attendees will leave with a good understanding of the technology and effort required to write their own compelling application. The talk will be given on Tuesday morning at 8:30 in room 2022 at the Mosconi Convention Center in San Francisco.
