Where’s my PowerBook?
Here is an application that I need right now! I purchased a Powerbook from Apple. The ecommerce was seemless, customization, credit app., and check out. They even gave me an agreement to sign and tape on my door letting the delivery guy know that I trust my neighbors not to steal my packages.
I print out my receipt for the purchase and it says to expect delivery within 5 business days. I’m a New Englander, this is still winter sorta, so expect delivery to take a full 5 business days.
Approximately 60 hours after I made the purchase online, I come home and see the Fed Ex guy has left me a note saying that I missed him and need to sign for my package. I sign the Fed Ex and Apple drop off release , tape it to my door, and hope to see my $2000 purchase sitting on my front steps the next evening when I get home.
Banking on change
Interesting press releases hyping a cell phone banking test run with Wachovia Bank branches. This concept has been around for quite awhile. More discussion is needed on the many reasons for the seemingly slow adoption by banks and consumers.
Award winning voice mashup from ETEL
Here is information about the After Hours Doctors Office application.
Fair warning, toot-toot, ( tooting our own horn) Tom built it. Yep, it did win the first ever ETEL voice mashup contest. I think it would work really well for veterinary offices too.
For any parent or pet owner, has your kid or kitty ever gotten weirdly sick when the doctor’s office is actually open? The answer is NO! It is a law of the Universe that goofy, weird bodily malfunctions only happen at 10:30 pm, Sunday afternoon, or on the Friday afternoon before a three day weekend. Every HMO ( and Vet equivalent) needs to make this application a reality.
